Linsay riding My DesireOur Lineages

The Hartungs began in 1960 with one 1/2 Arabian 1/2 Morgan black mare, Chloe. They purchased the mare Nasr Ribala #0017076 (Buna x Alla Ribala) in 1968 and the mare Takara Rifalima+ #0049102 (Takara Rifha x Alima#007860) in 1974.

All current horses at Hartung Farms are descended from Nasr Ribala and Takara Rifalima+. These two original mares inspired the family to continue to breed athletic, tall, willing, English pleasure horses.

At left: Lindsay, a Hartung grandchild, continues in our steps. She is currently taking riding lessons from Chris and Sonja Bickford and is shown riding My Desire.

Nasr Ribala
Nasr Ribala produced fillies by Bay Abi, Fadjur, Alicantes Ghazal, and *Mirzaz for her prior owner, Jane Fish. For the Hartungs, she most notably produced four siblings by Ga-Serafey: Garimond +++ #0122946, The Ringleader, My Desire #0280780, and Carri-On.

Takara Rifalima+
Takara Rifalima+ was already a successful show mare as a 4-year-old when purchased by the Hartungs at auction in 1974. Takara Rifalima+ had show wins with seven different family members. In 1980, she produced the national-winning daughter Genuine Bey #0204652 by Bay el Bey, and in 1985 the daughter Danskalima #0342035 by Gdansk #0047458. Takara Rifalima+ was shown by daughter Julie to Canadian National Top Ten English Pleasure in 1978. She also was shown by daughter Mary and earned U.S. Top Ten Saddle Seat Equitation in 1977. Takara Rifalima earned numerous regional championships with her 7 different handlers from 1974 to 1979.

My Desire
The Ga-Serafey/Nasr Ribala daughter My Desire has produced the bay geldings Bask Fyre #0175602 and Ayre Bask #0541016 by Bask Flame. Bask Fyre stands 16 hands and is a multiple halter champion currently in race training in Washington. Ayre Bask, also over 15 hands tall, began his training in the summer of 2000. My Desire was bred with Cytosk+++ #0280837 and produced the bay mare Excyting #0516870.

Danskalima
Danskalima produced the outstanding chestnut gelding Bask Danzer #0539426 by Bask Flame who will be shown in Junior Horse Country Pleasure driving in 2000 with Chris Bickford. In 1999 the mare produced the gray filly Alima's Flame #0564485. Danskalima is in foal to Bask Flame and is due in June 2001.

Genuine Bey
